Solar panels work by converting sunlight into electricity through the use of photovoltaic cells. Each individual panel can vary in size from 250w to 450w, then to determine the size of the system you simply multiple the wattage of one panel by how many individual panels you require, which equals to the size system you need.
A typical residential solar panel system ranges from 3 kW to 8 kW, however housing size and electricity usage can see this number increase to a 10+ KW system, while a commercial system can range from 10 kW to 100 kW or more.
The inverter systems are necessary to convert the DC electricity generated by the solar panels into AC electricity that can be used in the home.
